What am I doing these days?

​

I am retired. 

After decades of touring the United States, Canada, Mexico,throughout the Caribbean, Ireland and Scotland and a few more fun places,  it's very nice to settle back to my family's former vacation home, now my permanent home, in Gilford, New Hampshire.

These days I am spending much of my time at our lake house on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee in Gilford, New Hampshire.   The weather has been fantastic and the lake water has been very warm.  I bought a new Pedego fat tire E-Bike and a new beach chair.  Need I say more?  I sit by the lakeside some mornings and do think about the many years cruising the Mexican Riviera on the 'Stardancer' later named 'Viking Serenade'.  We did 7 day round trips from Los Angeles leaving LA Cruise-port at 5 PM every Friday.   We spent the summers cruising Alaska's Inside Passage on 7 day round trip starting in Vancouver, BC.

I take another sip of morning coffee while I gaze out on the beautiful Winnipesaukee, with the mountains in the background  glistening in the morning sun, I think about how very fortunate I have been to spent a lifetime traveling all over this beautiful country just making music and entertaining so many people in so many places from  Boston; New York; Halifax, NS; Bangor ME; Lake Placid, NH; The Hatch Shell Boston, MA; Sugarbush Valley, VT; Little John's Waitsfield, VT; Smugglers Notch, Vt; Stowe Mountain Resort, VT; Hopkington Fair, NH; Tunbridge Worlds Fair, VT;  Danvers Family Festival, MA; Sheraton Hotel, Buffalo, NY;  Chicago, IL; Washington DC, Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Lubbock, TX; San Francisco, CA; Hollywood, CA; Newport Beach, CA; Anaheim, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Seatle, WA;  The Dalles, OR; Jackpot, NV; Reno, NV, Lake Tahoe, NV;  Garden State Arts Center, NJ;  AND SO MANY MORE.

 

The last ten years, before the Pandemic, I spent leading tours to Ireland and Scotland.   I guess I will have to come sit by the lake again and reminisce of my wonderful travels in Ireland and Scotland. When the Covid Pandemic began, I had to stop taking my tours to Ireland and Scotland and stop performing live shows. I started creating music videos for senior facilities and some hospitals.

This summer I have been doing children's shows every Monday morning in our beautiful lakeside pavilion at Lake Shore Park.  I get to play with my Amateur 'HAM' radios everyday and pick back up with my other passions as photography and making videos. And of course find some time to play some guitar, banjo and mandolin without annoying my neighbors.   I'm out of coffee now.  I'll be back another day.
